AI-Assisted Review, Led by Expert Editors
AI that thinks critically. Editors who know what matters. Life Science Editors has partnered with qed, and together we’re piloting an AI-based reviewer tool built to help your paper reach its highest potential. qed uses AI to surface what’s truly new in a manuscript and where claims may need more substantial evidence. Our experience as former journal editors uniquely positions us to interpret and apply qed’s structured analysis in an informed way to strengthen your paper’s impact.
This limited-time offering combines AI insight with human judgment to help you revise more strategically and with greater confidence.
Why collaborate with qed? Why now?
qed (quod erat demonstrandum) reimagines scientific review with AI that thinks critically. Built by scientists Niv Samuel Mastboim and Oded Rechavi, it applies structured reasoning to surface novelty, test validity, and flag gaps, acting as a virtual reviewer that supports (but doesn’t replace) human judgment.
Our editors bring what machines typically can’t: context, judgment, and experience. They know which comments matter, how to prioritize them, and how to translate them into actionable feedback that helps you move forward.
As AI begins to reshape how research is evaluated, we see this as the right moment to ensure critical thinking and editorial rigor evolve together. LSE and qed share a mission: to make scientific review more rigorous, fair, and empowering. Ultimately, helping strong science reach its full potential.
What You Get
qed analyzes the strength of your arguments and highlights where reviewers may challenge the logic or expect stronger evidence. We translate those insights into a clear summary focused only on what is most actionable. You receive concise guidance, giving your manuscript both clarity and resilience in a single step. Alongside your chosen service (see below) you recieve an LSE-curated synthesis summarizing:
- Background (What’s known)
- Summary of Advance (What’s new)
- Strengths/Potential
- Gaps/Limitations
