EXPERIENCE

  • Launched, developed and was Editor-in-Chief of Cell Reports, a well-regarded journal that publishes exciting, novel research across the life sciences.
  • Created and implemented strategic business plans that supported the journal and its financial success, and exceeded expectations and key performance indicators.
  • Recruited and led team of ten editors: four of my previous team now lead journals at Cell Press.
  • Currently direct scientific initiatives at world-renowned research center, advising faculty and postdocs on papers and grants, facilitating and jump-starting projects.
  • Manage Tan-Yang Autism Center, organized first cross-disciplinary retreat, and assess new autism research projects.

  • 2003-2006 Post-doctoral research, New York University (Rajewsky/Piano labs). Studied microRNA targets in C. elegans. Led project to identify and validate targets, interfacing with computational biologists and co-writing a successfully funded NIH grant.
  • 1998-2002 Post-doctoral research, University of Chicago (Patel lab). Studied the evolution of post-translational mRNA regulation. Led project and mentored students, co-led University of Chicago Postdoctoral Society.

  • 1998-1994 Graduate School: University of Oxford, UK/ Cancer Research UK. D.Phil (PhD equivalent) in Biochemistry. Studied post-translational regulation of mRNA under the supervision of Dr. David Ish-Horowicz.
